When I worked at the Maker Faire this year I was behind a register and didn’t have a lot of time to go out and engage with the people I wanted to photograph. I got a few shots of customers from behind the register.

Quetzal once took off his hat and gave a nod to me as we passed in the street. I thought I had unknowingly time travelled, given the old fashioned courtesy he had shown. Like the bird he was named after, he is a striking beauty. I found him at the Sebastopol flea market on a hot summer day. We were both meandering, looking for treasures. I hope he got lucky too.
